Each child at Samson has their own personalized folder which contains our weekly affirmation, and the poem and song of the month. This year we continued to learn American folk songs, including This Land is Your Land. The covers are also changed monthly to reflect the theme of the month: February was hearts (of course!) and March the four-leafed clover. It’s the luck of the Irish to attend Samson Academy!
The month of March saw Samson learning about World War II and the Cold War. We studied Picasso’s Guernica, learned about victory gardens, rationing, and Rosie the Riveter, and listened to the Andrews Sisters and Bill Haley and the Comets.
Our artist was Jackson Pollack and our field trip was to the rodeo!
