This month we studied The Great Depression. We learned about the dust bowl and soup kitchens. We listened to Bing Crosby sing “Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?” We learned about FDR and the New Deal.
We watched videos of Shirley Temple and Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, as well as Mickey Mouse. Our artist for February was Grant Wood. We also studied Dorothea Lange and finished our unit on Vermeer.
Finally, we took a field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts.
