Another wonderful month at Samson Academy! Early in the month we went to the Museum of Natural Science to see the exhibit on Pompeii. We had already learned about the destruction of Pompeii and its eventual rediscovery. We finished up our unit on ancient Rome with a lapbook and updating our individual timelines of history. We also harvested some of the basil we’ve been growing and made spaghetti al pesto. Yummy! A joke by one of the students turned the third Monday into Poof Day. At Samson Academy, we appreciate the spontaneous.
We also learned about the Celts, Stonehenge, and Mendel’s peas and what they taught us about genetics. We even started our own pea plants! We also made a DNA strand out of Twizzlers and mini marshmallows. Learning sure is sweet at Samson!
